My First FARE Walk For Food Allergies

Yesterday my family and I participated in our first FARE Walk for Food Allergies.  It was so nice to come together with other families and supporters of the food allergy community.  It’s not very often that you get that many people in one place that understand and promote awareness for food allergies.  The event included a jazz band for entertainment, some vendors with samples & coupons, and games and a bounce house for the kids.  Mylan was there representing the ever-faithful Epi-pen as well as the new kid on the block Auvi-Q by Sanofi.  All in all it was a great turnout with beautiful weather with everyone coming together for a great cause.  Here’s a picture of my family and a great friend, Jessica, and her family sporting our Nathan’s All Stars team shirts!

Enjoy these pictures from the walk……

Here’s Nathan and his friend nearing the finish line.  They were sick of riding in the strollers!

I want to thank my parents, Phil and Madelyn, my brother, Aaron, my mother and father-in-law, David and Karen, and my friend Jessica and her family for joining Brent, Nathan, Julia and I in this outing.  It’s so nice to have support from friends and family on a health issue that affects more than just the food allergic themselves.  I know Nathan and Jessica, who is allergic to dairy and nuts, appreciate all of us rallying with them to raise money to find a cure for food allergies.
